Why this exists
Kids in developmental follow-up care often see six or more specialists in one visit, then don't return for three to twelve months. Families leave with a stack of paper and no support in between. Care teams have no low-effort way to learn about problems before the next appointment, and the caregivers facing income, transportation, or language barriers are the ones most likely to fall through.
Between Visits is our attempt to close that gap: a plain-language recap after each visit, a few short check-ins in between, and an exception-based view for care teams. Nothing new lands in anyone's inbox, and nothing falls through quietly.

Entrepreneurial Lead
Tungaa is a second-year medical student at the University of Washington School of Medicine. The idea for Between Visits came out of a clinical rotation, watching families move through pediatric developmental follow-up. A child can see six or more specialists in one visit, then not return for three to twelve months, with no support in the gap in between.
She leads the clinical relationships, family and care-team interviews, and the caregiver-facing product direction.
Tungaa's clinical training has included rotations at UW Medicine and Seattle Children's clinics. Between Visits is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the University of Washington or Seattle Children's.
Peter Bittner
Technical & Product Lead
Peter builds Between Visits end to end: the product, the architecture, and the messaging and dashboard systems that will connect to a hospital's after-visit summaries once a pilot begins.
Outside Between Visits, Peter works in AI product and trains organizations on applying AI effectively.
Who we are
We're a two-person founding team, one clinical and one technical. Between Visits started from a simple, specific frustration: a family leaves a developmental follow-up visit holding a stack of paper, with no idea what happens next, and no way to reach anyone before the next appointment months away.
Between Visits is an early-stage pilot that grew out of a University of Washington student project. It is an independent project, not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the University of Washington or Seattle Children's. No real patient information is used at this stage, and the example families shown on this site are illustrative.
